We have three surgery rooms and a highly experienced human team, highly trained in the most modern techniques for performing micro-ocular surgeries, as well as having the latest technology for its realization.

We have two of the most complete ophthalmological surgery rooms in the country with:

• Centurium Phacoemulsifier

• Luxor Microscope

• Anesthesia Machine

• Cardiac monitoring

• Leyca 690 Microscope with Illumin-i system

• Constellation anterior and posterior phacoemulsifier

• Equipment and instruments of last generation

PROCEDURES THAT WE PERFORM

Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is the process of removing an opaque lens (cataract) from the eye.

There are two techniques to remove a cataract depending on its type: phacoemulsification and extracapsular extraction. Phacoemusification uses an instrument that allows the cataract to be broken by sound waves and then aspirated. And the extracapsular extraction consists of removing the entire cataract in one piece.

Intracorneal rings are one of the measures to counteract second-degree keratoconus in our patients.

It consists of the implantation of one or two acrylic rings, as necessary, inside the patient's cornea which stops the progression of the keratoconus and regularizes it.

Glaucoma Valve Implants

Trabeculectomy

Strabismus Surgery

Correction of the deviation of the eyes can be treated by glasses but in situations are not enough. Then surgery represents the most ideal treatment.

Basically, what we do is weaken and / or reinforce the muscles that move the eye in the different positions of the eye in order to obtain a proper and aesthetic alignment.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty or surgery is a procedure to remove fat and excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids.

Blepharoplasty can correct the fall of the upper eyelids and the lower ones, which make us look older and more tired than we are and, in some cases, may interfere with vision.

Correction of Ectropion and Entropion

Entropion is the introversion of the lower eyelid and Ectropion is the extraversion of the eyelid. Both anomalies cause tearing and excessive irritation and in many cases due to age.

Surgically, the correction of both is done with local anesthesia, tightening the eyelid and its insertions, by simple sutures.

Palpebral Ptosis Correction

The eyelid ptosis correction surgery (drooping eyelids) consists of raising the upper eyelid height to its normal position.

Ptosis can affect the visual field and can be serious for children, as it can impede the development of vision.

Avastin Injection

The injection of this medication allows reducing and / or eliminating macular edema, including diabetic macular edema. This allows the patient to recover the quality of vision.

Lumbar puncture

In medicine, lumbar puncture is a diagnostic procedure that is performed to collect a sample of the cerebrospinal fluid for a biochemical, microbiological and cytological analysis, or rarely to decrease the pressure of cerebrospinal fluid.

It is performed to measure the intracranial pressure, which if high can be a cause of intense headaches.

Antes

Después

Retinal and Vitreo Surgery

Vitrectomy is an eye surgery that is used to remove the vitreous (a gel that fills the eye cavity).

This surgery has allowed many patients, who some years ago irreparably lost vision, can maintain it or recover it to very satisfactory levels.

Plastia

Procedure to reconstruct and recanalize the tear point

This treatment seeks to reduce the tearing caused by the obstruction of the tear duct, which is the communication between the eye and the nose to allow the drainage of tears.

Dacryo

Dacryocystitis is an infection of the lacrimal sac, usually caused by staphylococci. In children it is common to find Haemophilus influenzae, beta-hemolytic streptococcus and pneumococcus.

The function of the lacrimal excretory system is to drain the tears that moisten the eye. Obstruction of this excretory duct causes stagnation of tears with subsequent infection

Crosslinking

It is a procedure by which a chemical reaction produces a reinforcement of the cornea, making it less elastic and more resistant, is made by combining Ultraviolet and Riboflavin radiation. Most of the time, it is possible to stop the progression of keratoconus and other corneal ectasias with Crosslinking.

Chalazion and Styes

The chalazion and the styes are bumps on the eyelid. The sty is caused by the follicle of an infected eyelash. A chalazion is formed when a sebaceous gland of the eyelid called Meibomian gland becomes enlarged. They are treated with warm compresses, antibiotic ointments, steroid injections and surgical excision.

Previous Segment

Pterygium

It consists of an abnormal growth by inflammation of conjunctival tissue that tends to go from the white part of the eye to the tissue of the cornea. This anomalous tissue is inflamed by lack of lubrication, by exposure to the sun, wind or other irritants. The person who has it has the sensation of having a foreign body in the eye and it has a congestive appearance.

Trabeculectomy is the classic drainage surgery called glaucoma. It is indicated to reduce intraocular pressure, when treatment with hypotensive drugs is not enough and the disease progresses.

It consists of making a way out of the aqueous humor from the anterior chamber to the subconjunctival space, creating a subconjunitval filtration ampoule.

Retina

Cornea

Refractive Surgery

Intracorneal Rings

Glaucoma

It is a procedure in which a small tube is inserted into the front of the eye, connected to a reservoir that is placed under the conjunctiva; this surgery offers greater success than trabeculectomy and deep sclerectomy.

The surgery is performed in a clinic, on an outpatient basis, with local or general anesthesia, and usually takes about 45 minutes. Does not hurt during or after the procedure.

Ciclocrio

This surgery is performed using extreme cold in one part of the body to freeze and destroy undesirable tissues. Cystosurgery is performed with an instrument called a cryoprobe, which has a thin end cooled by carbon dioxide or nitrous oxide. This surgery is done in order to stop the increase in intraocular pressure.

Others

Oculoplasty

Eyelid Retraction

It is a pathology that usually appears associated with thyroid orbitopathy, giving the patient a face of scare face so characteristic of this disease.

The surgery is performed by weakening the levator muscle of the upper eyelid, which returns the patient to his expression and rehabilitates him for social and work life.

Palpebral Tumors

Tumors of the eyelids represent a major problem within ophthalmologic pathology.

Most lesions that appear on the eyelids are carcinomas, so these should be studied and removed, as they could affect the patient's life.

Refractive surgery is a set of procedures that modify the anatomy of the eye, especially the cornea, definitively eliminating the refractive defects of myopia, farsightedness and astigmatism so that the use of glasses or contact lenses is not necessary.
